Nelson Mandela |
It has been 3 weeks since former South African President and
Icon, Nelson Mandela was admitted to the hospital. He was discharged on Boxing Day, December 26
from a hospital in Pretoria, the South African capital. Mr. Mandela, fondly
called “Madiba”- his clan name, was admitted to the hospital Saturday, December
8, he was diagnosed with a lung infection and underwent gallstone surgery.
The procedure was successful according to his doctors and although
he has not yet fully recovered, he has made steady progress. A medical team
will remain with the 94-year old Nobel Laureate to provide “home based high
care” at his residence in the Johannesburg neighbourhood of Houghton.
I wish him a full and speedy recovery, as do billions around
the world.
